Restoration can clean a card. It can also be a No Grade

One line: graders want an unaltered surface. PSA FAQ: trim (N1), restoration (N2), recolor (N3), altered stock (N5), cleaning (N7) come back raw. You still pay the grading fee. N6 / N8 / N9 (size, factory cut, service not offered) are the no-fee codes.

This page is not a restorer directory. Ask the grader in writing before you pay a cleaner.

Upside

Fingerprints and light dust: some shops (HobbyX’s submit page) offer a basic counter clean. A reholder is a cracked slab, not a core repair.

Downside

Terms call trimming, re-coloring, bleaching, cleaning, and waxing “Doctoring”. You warrant you are not submitting a doctored card. Beckett’s live page says every card is checked for trimming, doctoring, and alteration. A shop clean can still be PSA N7. Altered holders take a market haircut — no single percentage here.
